My take on ChatGPT
I have been dabbling with ChatGPT for the past month, and here is what I learned.
It is a natural evolution of the technology landscape. Search engines like Google or Bing have reached a saturation point, and it is time for the next logical step in evolution. ChatGPT shows the path.
Search engines like Google or Bing are known for providing numerous search results in response to a given query. Often, these results can number in the thousands, if not millions, and most people only choose one or two results from the list. As AI models such as ChatCPT continue to develop, they can eliminate redundant search results and provide a single set of relevant results instead. This represents an evolutionary shift in how we search for information, and we may need to adapt to this new approach, whether we view it positively or negatively. We may end up living with a single narrative, and multiple answers will be a thing of the past.
If you focus on building your writing skills, AI-powered software can either greatly enhance your productivity or eliminate certain job functions. Specifically, in the context of business proposals, ChatGPT offers numerous tools to help you craft well-articulated ideas and clarify your thoughts. By using this software, the amount of time spent editing and refining documents can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, for individuals who struggle to articulate their ideas in writing, this new AI model-based software is heaven-sent.
I believe there is usually more than one way to approach a question, and multiple narratives may exist. However, tools like ChatGPT tend to provide singular, monolithic answers. While this approach can be useful for fact-based questions, it may not be suitable for questions that require more nuanced or subjective answers. In such cases, ChatGPT attempts to provide a deterministic narrative, which may not capture the full complexity of the issue at hand.
Sometimes, in the pretext of giving a humane response, ChatGPT tries to give human-like verbiage without substance. Sometimes, it is more a wordplay than an answer.
Having said so, this is going to be revolutionary. If AI can do something like this to writing, then songs, music, videos, or any art form are not far away.
This is blurring the creative space of writing. ChatGPT is not a threat to original content writers, but it may soon muddy that also. Creative writing dabbles at the borderline of insanity and pushes the boundaries. ChatGPT has that element of being rogue when you are pushing its boundaries.
